Passage Visibility

A road segment is deemed visible (and thus relevant) to a location if people passing by on that road segment - by car or as pedestrians - can see the location (see car passage and footfall). Through this visibility local awareness is created and passengers might be converted into potential visitors of the location.

Relevant passage or footfall is about unique people flows for whom a location is deemed visible. For example, while a location might be visible from two connecting road segments, still only one of these road segments will be taken into account. After all, traffic or pedestrians mostly pass over both road segments, and want to avoid a significant double count of the potential for conversion to visitors of a location.
