Car passage and footfall

Car passage and footfall can refer to (1) the traffic and pedestrian volumes on a given road segment or to (2) the total or relevant volume for a given location.

1. Traffic volumes and pedestrian volumes represent the total number of vehicles or pedestrians respectively (i.e. volume) per week on a road segment. In the application, these volumes can be viewed as a map layer for the entire road network or as a graph for a specific road segment.

2. The relevant car passage or footfall volume is a location characteristic. It represents the visibility of a location to the people passing by on car or on foot. For each location, the main roads from which the location is visible are determined and account for the relevant passage.
