Passage confirmation

Car passage and footfall as a location characteristic is calculated by identifying visible (and thus relevant) road segments for locations. This identification is automatically done when locations are added or uploaded to the applications. We refer to this as the passage configuration of a location.

Since this initial identification is the result of an algorithm and, hence, cannot possibly take the local context and specificity into account the identification is flagged by default as unconfirmed.

Platform users have the possibility to inspect the default (and thus unconfirmed) passage configuration, validate or update it, and finally confirm it. After doing so the passage configuration of a location will be flagged as confirmed.
