# Future state period

#### **What is the Future State?**

The **Future State** is a separate baseline period that includes **assumptions about the future evolution of the network** beyond the most recent updates captured in the [Current State](https://kb.retailsonar.com/en/article/current-state-period).

#### **How is the Future State used?**

The **Future State** is used in the **Optimize module** and includes additional assumptions such as:

-   Online growth
-   Overall growth
-   Changes in customer profile
-   Increased NPS (Net Promoter Score)
-   Newer interior design, etc.

The **optimization phase** begins from the **Future State**, allowing users to plan for strategic network developments and improvements.
